For those that might have wondered, no, I do not quit,.. 😁

It has been and it is A L O N G road and significant chunk of one's life, undertaking and building a liveaboard yacht, a small ship, ESPECIALLY when doing this solo!

With the change of seasons, leaving what was an unprecedented, long, HOT summer, into what has been a very mild and WELCOME winter, the good boatwork continued, seeing me tick off MANY jobs including many that were small and otherwise unseen, but crucially important to the actual functioning of Mistress, for when she does finally and soon, slide into the waters, where she has been created to belong. There has also been several other significant jobs, let's say medium sized, that have been completed, seeing many of these removed off of the Post-it notes lists, where lately I have finally got back to the beautiful W.R. cedar, VJ panel lining and electrical install, including having made a good start on installing some of the electronics instruments cabling.

A list of most of this boatwork :

*completed building the fantastic hard dodger

*replaced the small LPG stove-oven with a very fancy and decent sized one

*undercoated and painted several steel and stainless steel items for Mistress' propeller, rudder and engine control cables

*AWLwood varnish top-coated a bunch of plywood and Rosewood fit-out pieces

*The RIG, ohhh man, it was SO GOOD to finally get down to re-visit Mistress' rig (mast, boom, spinnaker pole spars including all of the standing rigging, etc.) and go over everything anew with Cookie the builder as well as adding several things

*adding the anchor locker rubber lining

*getting Mistress' first Survey

*getting the head/bathroom plumbing now mostly in place

*replaced the LPG pipe and installed the gas Detector electrical alarm, shutoff system

*putting a new through hull hole in Mistress for the DST transducer, as well as running the cable, which is never simple on a liveaboard boat

*shockproof securing the batteries

*making and fitting engine control cable brackets

*making and fitting the beautiful coachroof rails, which were a big part to sort out before I could continue on with the finish lining work

*to the now, as mentioned above, full steam ahead lining work which includes running and fitting electrical cables, lights, fans and chargers

And with the weeks having rolled past behind me, the NEW LAUNCH DATE plans materialised and over many weeks I was able to "line up all of the necessary ducks" to have all and everyone in place for our hoped for and very hard won departure,......

So yes, per the pic., there really and always are, "spanners in the works" when it comes to boat building. But this is true of life anyway, right?!

STAY TUNED!
